Infrascanner 2000

Infrascanner is a portable, non-invasive device for screening for intracranial bleeding in field conditions. The examination is based on a comparative analysis of symmetrical areas within the cerebral lobes: frontal, temporal, parietal, and occipital. The device, with a sensitivity of approximately 90%, detects fresh traumatic bleeding

(up to 48 hours after the onset of bleeding), enabling a quick decision regarding further treatment or transport. Infrascanner is dedicated to examining patients with mild head injuries (13 – 15 GCS) who do not have direct indications for CT scans or such examination is currently impossible. Thanks to negligible radiation, Infrascanner is completely safe for every patient and allows for repeated examinations at any time intervals. It is a unique and invaluable complement to the initial neurological examination, enabling early detection of intracranial bleeding. Indispensable in field conditions where access to CT scans is difficult, remote, or impossible.

Product characteristics:

  • A complete examination of the entire head within 4 lobes takes 2 – 3 minutes
  • Detects bleeding with a volume of at least 3.5 ml
  • Detects bleeding up to a depth of 2.5 cm from the surface of the brain (3.5 cm from the surface of the scalp)
  • The use of disposable head covers eliminates the risk of infection.
  • Clearly indicates whether or not bleeding is present in a given area
  • Infrascanner does not replace CT scans but is an important and sometimes the only way to image the presence of intracranial bleeding. Its purpose is to help determine the transport and treatment priority.
  • Note: Only early detection of bleeding and rapid transport to a center with a neurosurgical team and full CT imaging can help effectively save the lives of patients with intracranial bleeding.
