FAST 1 Intraosseous Infusion Kit

The F.A.S.T. 1 Intraosseous Infusion Kit allows for rapid intraosseous infusion, which is an effective route for administering fluids used in resuscitation into the patient's bloodstream. Furthermore, establishing an intraosseous access bypasses the problem inherently associated with establishing intravenous access in emergency situations, namely the difficulty in locating veins in critically ill patients.

Product Features:

Easy
The skills required to operate the F.A.S.T. 1™ system have been matched to the skills of the potential user, and only minimal training is needed to familiarize the user with the system’s easy-to-use components and simple procedure.

Safe
The F.A.S.T. 1™ release mechanism safely sets the infusion tube at a controlled depth in the bone marrow. The F.A.S.T. 1™ system is completely safe for medical personnel to use. The powerful bone probe mechanism in the Guide retracts automatically into the handle after the infusion tube is released.

Can be used in all medical rescue situations
The F.A.S.T. 1™ Intraosseous Infusion System has been designed to meet the demands of both civilian and military rescue interventions. All of its components are designed to shorten the time it takes to establish an infusion access and to enable effective patient treatment despite the difficulties encountered in rescue situations.

Fast
During system effectiveness trials of F.A.S.T. 1™, testers achieved intravenous access in 60-90 seconds. In reports from the literature, users – doctors and paramedics – indicate that intravenous access can be achieved in less than approximately 90 seconds. In turn, numerous documented studies indicate that establishing intravenous access in out-of-hospital settings usually takes between 90 seconds and 10 minutes, and may take considerably longer.

Fluid Resuscitation
The F.A.S.T. 1™ Intraosseous Infusion System can be used to administer sufficient volumes of fluids to counteract the development of hemorrhagic shock. The usual flow rate for saline is 30 ml/min by gravity infusion and 125 ml/min with a pressure infusion cuff. The result of our commitment to creating an effective intraosseous infusion system is the development of F.A.S.T. 1™. This system has proven to be fast, effective, easy to use and safe to use in both out-of-hospital and in-hospital emergency rescue situations.
